Talking With Bill Ard About Moving To A Sound Congregation

This is a special guest episode.  In this episode one of the brethren from the congregation here in El Paso, TX has joined me.  Bill moved here in 2019 because he had come to realize that where he was assembling was a congregation teaching and practicing error.  We talk about several things in this episode that surrounds what it was like to learn he was in error and how difficult it was to make changes.  Other things come up too that you might find very interesting.

Ruling Over Your Own Mind

This Podcast is motivated by this statement: "He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls" (Proverbs 25:28).  From this verse we are going to talk about controlling your thoughts.  I hope you will benefit from this study.

Cognitive Dissonance

What does "Cognitive Dissonance" mean?  Is this a Scriptural subject matter?  The terms are not in the Scriptures, but you will see the concepts are.  I think (hope) you will find this study of the Scriptures to be interesting and enlightening.  

Satan, Devils, Unclean Spirits, etc.

This is a question.  A question that is not intended to be an indictment.  It is a question that begs of you to examine things in light of what we are going to discuss.  Are there things you “have to” talk to people about.  For example, a great roofing company you have found, a great product you use, an awesome TV show, etc.?  Do you retweet, share social media posts, etc. because you want others to see them?  Do you tell your neighbor that shingles are missing off of his/her roof because you’re a good neighbor?  Are there things you cannot help but tell others for good reasons?  Well, what about the Gospel?  What about Jesus?

Maybe You’re Making It Harder Than God Intended

I often wonder why it is that people think that they cannot live without sinning.  The congregation here in El Paso discussed this when we were studying I John 1:5-2:1.  During that discussion, I wondered out loud if people think they cannot cease from sin because they think things are sinful when they really are not.  Listen to this WHOLE lesson and consider the Scriptures herein.  Hopefully, this Podcast will be liberating for you.  **NOTE: I made reference to I Timothy 2:11-12 about modes apparel.  That was incorrect.  It is actually I Timothy 2:9-10.
